Lenta to double number of supermarkets in next years
MOSCOW, Jan 26 (PRIME) -- Retailer Lenta plans to double the number of supermarkets in the next few years to become an important participant of the market, CEO Jan Dunning said in a conference call late on Thursday.
“We have doubled our supermarket chain in five regions to 97 stores, but this is still a relatively small business. We see a potential to double the figure in the next few years to become a significant player in the segment,” he said.
CEO of research agency InfoLine Ivan Fedyakov said that Lenta has not yet exceeded Auchan in revenue terms, but is very likely to do it soon to become Russia’s third biggest grocery retailer.
